Cozumel is a stunning island off the coast of Playa del Carmen, just 12 miles away and a short ferry ride. Cozumel has a lot to offer travelers and wedding guests. One, it is statistically the safest place in Mexico as far as crime goes. There's also the Mesoamerican Coral Reef right off the shore, making it a world-class dive spot. We've dove there several times, and it's nothing short of spectacular! The island's only town offers shops, restaurants and many  places to book day excursions. A popular excursion there is to rent a scooter or car and drive around to the east or "wild" side of the island. You'll find long stretches of untouched beaches that you can have all to yourself. The east side is also dotted with beach bars and restaurants with hammocks, so there's a lot of places to relax with a pina colada. The island of Cozumel has a rare mix of Mayan, Mexican and Caribbean cultures, making it an exciting place to explore! Cozumel also has beautiful sunsets on the West side where the resorts are, making for beautiful sunset photos for weddings and beyond.
